Woodline Partners Settles Sexual Harassment Lawsuit with Former Employee
Hedge fund Woodline Partners has settled a lawsuit with former employee Danielle Kesich, who accused the firm and its co-founder Karl Kroeker of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. The trial was set to begin this week.
Kesich's lawyer, Carney Shegerian, confirmed the settlement but declined further comment. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Woodline and Kroeker had previously denied the allegations, stating that Kesich did not raise any issues during her employment. An independent investigation by Woodline found Kesich's allegations to be unsubstantiated.
Woodline Partners was founded in 2019 by Karl Kroeker and Mike Rockefeller, attracting $2 billion in commitments. By 2023, the firm was running $6 billion in assets. Kesich alleged that Kroeker made inappropriate comments and objectified women during her time at the firm.
The settlement comes just before the trial was set to begin on Wednesday. While the terms of the settlement are not public, the resolution of the case may bring closure to both parties. Woodline Partners continues to manage its $6 billion in assets.
