UAE Launches Real-Time Price Monitoring Platform for Consumer Goods
The UAE Ministry of Economy has introduced a new National Digital Platform. This initiative aims to monitor prices of essential consumer goods in real time, enhancing consumer protection and market stability. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the Minister of Economy, highlighted its alignment with the 'We the UAE 2031' vision.
The platform keeps a close eye on key staples such as oil, eggs, dairy, rice, sugar, poultry, legumes, bread, and wheat. It tracks these items across various retailers, providing officials with real-time data. This enables them to compare prices against established ceilings, ensuring compliance with market regulations and safeguarding consumer rights.
The platform's primary goal is to instill confidence in consumers. By ensuring fair pricing of essential goods, it reflects the UAE's commitment to a well-regulated stock market today.
