Oil Giant "Transneft-Western Siberia" Reveals Preliminary Q1 2025 Lab Test Results
Today, the oil conglomerate "Transneft-Western Siberia" unveiled the interim results of its oil and petroleum product testing labs for Jan-Mar 2025. At present, seven quality control labs for oil and two for petroleum products are operational on their transfer stations. Over Q1 2025, these labs' staff conducted 31,567 tests on oil and petroleum products, ensuring they met the GOSST and technical standards.
Quality control for oil is conducted across 14 metrics, including water, chlorine compounds, sulfur, hydrogen sulfide, and chlorinated organic compounds. Petroleum product quality tests are performed based on 17 metrics, such as flashpoint temperature, fractional composition, and lubricating capacity. Additionally, two labs – Omsk and Angarsk – check the quality of compressor oils. Real-time test results are sent to the Unified Laboratory Information System for automatic data processing.
The company's main goal is to upgrade the lab infrastructure located on the production sites. Modern equipment enables the complete range of acceptance, periodic, and regular tests for oil and petroleum products during accounting operations, ensuring accurate results.
For their Q1 2025 labs, the company purchased ten new devices, including titrators to determine water content in oil by the Carl Fisher method for kulonometric titration, a complex for diesel fuel lubricating capacity tests, and an automatic fractional composition analyzer for petroleum products.
