Track disruption: Train RB12 no longer operates between Siegelsdorf and Markt Erlbach
From July 17 to 21, 2025, passengers travelling on lines RB12, RE10, and S6 between Siegelsdorf and Markt Erlbach, as well as between Nuremberg and Würzburg (RE10) and Nuremberg and Neustadt a.d. Aisch (S6), may experience altered schedules and station stops due to construction work on the Zenngrundbahn (RB12).
Deutsche Bahn (DB) has advised passengers to check their journeys carefully and plan accordingly, as the trains between Siegelsdorf and Markt Erlbach will be completely suspended during this period. Trains between Nuremberg, Fürth, and Siegelsdorf will run as scheduled, but passengers will need to transfer to replacement buses at Siegelsdorf.
DB Regio Bayern has outlined the construction work in its official construction schedule. Passengers are encouraged to visit the DB website or the local transport authority's website for the latest schedules and updates, or download mobile apps like DB Navigator or similar local transport apps for real-time updates and schedules.
It is worth noting that bicycle carriage is limited in the replacement buses for all affected lines. Hand luggage, strollers, and foldable wheelchairs can be transported in limited quantities. Passengers are advised that the buses may stop at different stations than the train, so it is essential to plan the journey accordingly.
The construction work is being carried out for safety and long-term infrastructure maintenance. DB recommends checking the latest schedules in the DB Navigator app or on bahn.de/bauarbeiten before departure for all affected lines.
Passengers are advised to stay informed and plan their journeys carefully during this construction period. For specific inquiries about these lines and the impact of the construction work, passengers can contact the customer service of the railway company directly.
- With the construction work on the Zenngrundbahn (RB12) from July 17 to 21, 2025, it is expected that the industry of public-transit transportation, including Deutsche Bahn (DB), will be significantly affected in the region, necessitating changes in schedules and the use of alternative modes of transportation such as replacement buses for lines RB12, RE10, and S6.
- Meanwhile, it appears that the finance sector may also be impacted during this construction period, as the alterations in transportation could potentially affect travel times, business meetings, and overall productivity for children and adults alike who rely on these lines for their daily commutes between cities like Nuremberg, Markt Erlbach, and Siegelsdorf.
