TPL, Japanese Firms Launch Mekong Logistics Hub to Boost Vietnam's Agro-Fishery Exports
Toan Phat Logistics Joint Stock Company (TPL) has joined forces with Japan's Kawanishi Warehouse Co., Ltd and MOL Logistics Co., Ltd to establish the Mekong Logistics Hub. This strategic alliance aims to revolutionize Vietnam's cold-chain system and position the country as a key player in global agro-fishery product supply chains.
The Mekong Delta, a major concentration of cold storage facilities in southern Vietnam, will be the hub's location. The alliance's long-term vision is to transform the Mekong Logistics Hub into a critical cold cargo transshipment center for ASEAN, boosting Vietnamese products' global presence.
The integrated model offers irradiation and cold storage at the same location, reducing transport time and costs, and minimizing supply chain disruption. This innovative approach is expected to upgrade Vietnam's existing export routes and elevate the country's agro-fishery product supply chain globally. The Mekong Logistics Hub provides a unique one-stop solution, enhancing Vietnam's logistics infrastructure.
TPL has been at the forefront of this development, having launched an irradiation facility in 2018 and a cold storage facility in 2023, creating a closed-loop service chain. The Mekong Logistics Hub aims to shorten export routes, reduce costs, and increase competitiveness, with a target of $65 billion in agro-forestry-fishery exports this year.
The Mekong Logistics Hub, a result of the strategic alliance between TPL and Japanese partners, is set to revolutionize Vietnam's cold-chain system. By offering a comprehensive cold-chain solution, the hub aims to upgrade Vietnam's export routes, enhance its logistics infrastructure, and boost the global competitiveness of its agro-fishery products.
