Toyota & Stratasys Celebrate 10 Years of 3D Printing Innovation
Toyota and Stratasys have celebrated a decade-long strategic collaboration, revolutionising automotive manufacturing. Toyota's latest innovation, the Add Lab, opened in January 2023, utilising Stratasys' industrial 3D printing solutions to accelerate R&D and factory innovation.
Toyota's production engineering group has integrated advanced 3D printing technology into its manufacturing process, empowering automotive workers. The company can now create working prototypes from sketches or ideas in just one day, thanks to Stratasys' technology.
The Add Lab, opened in January 2023, has already demonstrated its potential. Toyota has redesigned a door assembly fixture and a window alignment jig using 3D printing, improving ergonomics, safety, and efficiency. These innovations highlight the potential of the partnership to transform production processes.
Moreover, Toyota's collaboration with Panasonic, which includes the additive manufacturing center at the Toyota Add Lab opened in July 2023, further accelerates innovation on the production floor. This partnership reduces reliance on external suppliers and shortens lead times for Toyota's engineering teams.
