Toyota Kirloskar Motor Sales Surge 16% in September
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has reported a robust September, with sales surging 16% year-on-year to 31,091 units. This strong performance, driven by festive season momentum and GST reforms, has contributed to a 14% increase in sales for the first half of the financial year.
TKM's September success was marked by a 9.2% decrease from August but remained higher than July and June. The quarter (July-September) saw an estimated 7% increase in sales compared to the same period last year, with total units sold nearing 30,000. This growth was supported by a 27% increase in exports, with 4,002 cars shipped overseas.
Toyota's association with DRUM TAO as brand ambassadors and the introduction of the enhanced Rumion with six airbags as standard across all variants have likely contributed to this positive performance. The company's production capacity of up to 342,000 units annually ensures it is well-positioned to meet growing demand.
With a 16% year-on-year increase in September sales and a 14% increase in the first half of the financial year, Toyota Kirloskar Motor continues to show strong growth. The company's focus on safety features and strategic partnerships, coupled with its robust production capacity, positions it well for the remainder of the year.
