In the heart of Hanover, a series of modifications are underway that will affect local traffic routes. The focus of these changes is the cul-de-sac between the P5 parking garage exit and the Brauhaus Rietkötter.

The city is modifying the lower part of the one-way street on Brückstraße as part of these reconstruction works. This modification aims to keep the cul-de-sac accessible from Platz am Kuhhirten. Pedestrians exiting the parking garage will need to take a detour via Gerberstraße, and cyclists will follow a similar route, extending to Große Beckstraße.

For motor vehicle traffic, the detour will lead via Gerberstraße, Große Beckstraße, Ostring, Bleichstraße, and Untere Marktstraße. These adjustments are necessary due to the reconstruction works happening at the bicycle crossing, specifically between Gerberstraße and Große Beckstraße, which is scheduled from September 2025 to November 2025.

Despite the construction, the sidewalks on both sides of the street will remain usable throughout the reconstruction period. This means pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to navigate the area, albeit with some temporary changes to their usual routes.

The goal of these modifications is to ensure that the area remains accessible during the construction phase. The city is working to minimise disruption to local residents and visitors as much as possible.

For those approaching the closure, clear signage and detour routes will be provided to help navigate the temporary changes. It's important for everyone to follow these instructions to ensure a smooth transition during the construction period.

These changes are part of a larger effort to improve the city's infrastructure and make it more accessible for all users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists. The city encourages everyone to be patient during this time and to follow the detour signs for a safe and efficient journey.
