Todd Snyder's exclusive line, the Black Label Collection, officially debuts
In a dream come true for designer Todd Snyder, he has transformed Woolrich's iconic pieces into styles for the modern adventurer. Snyder, who wore Woolrich as a kid, has breathed new life into the brand, creating a 65-piece menswear collection divided into two distinct lines: Heritage and Technical.
The collection, which made its debut at Pitti Uomo in January, was released in North America on Thursday. It will be available exclusively in the U.S., on the e-commerce platforms of Snyder and Woolrich.com, as well as in select Todd Snyder stores.
Snyder expressed that it felt fresh to start with outdoor styles and refresh them in more modern silhouettes and premium fabrics. The Heritage line offers reinterpreted versions of Woolrich's historical pieces, such as an updated plaid shirt in cashmere, a new version of the Woolrich Arctic Parka, a cowl neck fisherman's sweater, and merino base layering pieces.
On the other hand, the Technical Line is designed for practical outdoor use and includes outerwear, boots, and ripstop nylon pants. Prices for the collection range from $128 for a snood to $1,498 for a parka, catering to a variety of budgets.
Todd Snyder's journey in the fashion industry has been a storied one. He previously worked at Polo Ralph Lauren, Gap, J. Crew, and launched an eponymous label in 2011. In 2015, his brand was acquired by American Eagle Outfitters as part of its acquisition of Tailgate Clothing Company, which owned Todd Snyder New York.
Luxembourg-based private equity firm L-Gam acquired a majority stake in Woolrich in 2018, and the majority stake in Woolrich was later acquired by the Italian company W.P. Lavori in the same year. This partnership has allowed Snyder to bring his vision to life and revitalise the iconic brand.
With the launch of this collection, Todd Snyder continues to push the boundaries of fashion, combining tradition with innovation to create a line that is perfect for the modern adventurer.
