Title: Frasier Reboot Faces New Home After CBS Cancellation

Frasier's journey comes to a halt at Paramount+. The streaming giant opted against a third season of the fan-favorite reboot, Frasier. Premiering on October 12, 2023, this revival starring Kelsey Grammer as the iconic psychiatrist Frasier Crane stirred excitement. With a hope for a better bond with his son, Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott), who's now a Boston firefighter, Frasier assumes a professorship at Harvard and moves into Freddy's apartment building.

A plethora of 20 episodes graced Paramount+. Despite this, CBS Studios remains dedicated to the show, seeking external platforms as potential homes for Frasier.

Season two of Frasier graced Paramount+ in September, with beloved actress Patricia Heaton joining the cast as Holly, a captivating love interest for Frasier. Peri Gilpin, who masterfully portrayed Roz Doyle, returned from guest-starring duties in season one to become a recurring character in season two. Moreover, the epicenter of the series shifted back to Seattle in an episode, featuring cameos from original cast members Dan Butler (Bulldog) and Edward Hibbert (Gil Chesterton).

Bebe Neuwirth enlivened the screens once more by reprising her role as Frasier’s ex-wife Lilith. Initially a character from Cheers, Lilith added an interesting layer to the Frasier reboot.

This iteration of Frasier boasted a talented cast: Nicholas Lyndhurst as Alan, Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor; Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, Alan’s colleague and the head of the university’s psychology department; Jess Salgueiro as Eve, the enigmatic neighbor of Frasier and Freddy; and Anders Keith as Frasier's nephew, David.

Kelsey Grammer slipped into the role of Frasier for a total of 484 episodes, spanning Cheers and both versions of Frasier.

Regrettably, Paramount+ declined to renew the third season of the Frasier reboot, attributing the move to its moderate performance and critical response. Despite an initial buzz, the show struggled to gain traction on the drama-containing Paramount+ platform. In an attempt to maintain the series' presence, CBS Studios aims to sell it to other channels like Prime Video and Hulu, which both house the original Frasier series' library.

Despite Paramount+'s decision not to renew 'Frasier' for a third season, CBS Studios continues to support the show, exploring other platforms like Prime Video and Hulu as potential homes. Bebe Neuwirth rejoined the cast, reprising her role as Frasier's ex-wife Lilith, adding an intriguing element to the reboot. Kelsey Grammer, known for his portrayal of Frasier Crane, appeared in a total of 484 episodes across both 'Cheers' and both versions of 'Frasier'.
