Energy Efficiency

The Tesla Semi averaged an impressive energy efficiency of 1.55 kWh per mile, covering 4,494 miles at about 321 miles per day. This efficiency figure was confirmed by Tesla Semi Program Head Dan W. Priestley. While it consumes roughly six times the energy per mile compared to a Tesla Model 3, it is considered efficient for a Class 8 semi-truck operating under heavy loads over varied terrain.

Handling and Performance

ArcBest tested the Semi under demanding real-world conditions, including a challenging 7,200-foot climb over Donner Pass. The vehicle's performance "generally matched" that of diesel trucks, an important benchmark for operational viability.
