Tesla China Sales Soar to Third-Highest Weekly Total in Three Years
Tesla China has achieved remarkable success in recent weeks, with the December 2-8 sales figures representing the third-highest weekly total in the last three years. Meanwhile, Tesla has set an ambitious global delivery target for the final quarter of 2024.
Tesla China's consistent growth throughout 2024 culminated in an impressive 21,900 insured units sold during the week of December 2-8. This figure not only surpasses the prior week's 18,600 units but also places Tesla among the top performers in the Chinese electric vehicle market. Notably, 16,760 of these units were Model Y vehicles.
In the same week, BYD, another Chinese automaker, sold a total of 21,900 electric vehicles, leading the market and outperforming Volkswagen and its joint ventures. Tesla's strong performance in China contributes significantly to its global delivery target of over 515,000 vehicles in Q4 2024. If achieved, this would bring Tesla's total deliveries for 2024 to over 1.8 million.
Tesla China's robust sales, with the December 2-8 figures being the third-highest in three years, indicate a strong finish to 2024. The global delivery target for Q4 2024, if met, will cap off a successful year for Tesla, with over 1.8 million vehicles delivered worldwide.
