In the town of Salacgrīva, a critical situation has arisen concerning the passage of heavy vehicles. Andris Zunde, the head of the local administration, has admitted that he is unsure how these vehicles will pass through the streets of Limbaži, as the temporary bridge, a concrete structure, is in a critical condition and cannot support heavy machinery.

The temporary bridge in question is not the Annasmuiža reinforced concrete bridge, which is a few kilometres from the Salacgrīva bridge. This bridge, however, will be used for the diversion of light vehicles during the repair period, as the Annasmuiža bridge can only be used in one direction at a time.

The Annasmuiža reinforced concrete bridge was not the site of the recent accident involving a van hitting a fuel tank, and there was no fuel leak on this bridge. The accident on the Salacgrīva bridge, though, has caused the bridge builders to decide on a more serious repair.

The repair work on the Salacgrīva bridge will not affect the completion of the permanent bridge over the Salaca River, which is still expected to be completed in autumn. The repair work on the Annasmuiža reinforced concrete bridge, meanwhile, will last for a week around Easter.

The diversion via the Annasmuiža reinforced concrete bridge is expected to result in traffic jams, potentially causing chaos not only in Salacgrīva, but in a larger area. Heavy vehicles will pass through Limbaži during the diversion, potentially causing problems in that town.

The name of the person responsible for the administration who caused the failure of the temporary bridge construction due to the truck accident at the Salacgrīva Bridge has not been publicly disclosed.

The diversion could cause chaos not only in Salacgrīva, but in a larger area, as the Annasmuiža reinforced concrete bridge is not the temporary bridge in critical condition. Andris Zunde, head of the administration, is not expressing uncertainty about the diversion of heavy vehicles via the Annasmuiža reinforced concrete bridge.

Despite the challenges, the local authorities are working to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during this difficult period. The repair work on the Salacgrīva bridge is a necessary step towards restoring the normal flow of traffic and ensuring the safety of the community.
