In Krasnodar, the local government has implemented a series of social support measures aimed at improving the living conditions of educators. These measures include mortgage and rent compensation programs, designed to incentivize skilled professionals to work in the education sector.
The mortgage compensation program offers educators assistance with their housing expenses, paying a monthly sum of 20,000 rubles towards their mortgage payments. Since its introduction in April 2024, over 1,000 educators have taken advantage of this benefit. For those who do not own a home, there is also a rent compensation program that refunds a portion of their rental expenses, helping to alleviate the cost of living.
Anna Leonova, Deputy Head of Krasnodar, highlighted the effectiveness of these measures, noting that in 2023 alone, 69 educators from other regions moved to the city. As Krasnodar annually builds and opens modern schools and kindergartens, the city has a constant need for dedicated educators.
Mortgage compensation is provided for three years, after which educators are required to work in an educational organization for an additional two years. To be eligible, applicants must have a full-time employment contract and submit the necessary documentation.
Teachers can also avail themselves of social payments from the regional budget, valued at 1 million or 1.5 million rubles, to improve their housing conditions, such as an initial mortgage payment, house construction, or home repairs.
