Yakutsk, the largest city situated on the continuous permafrost, is set to undergo a series of road repairs as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." The project aims to improve urban infrastructure and living conditions, focusing on creating modern, safe, and child-friendly environments.

Starting on June 25th, repair work will take place on Oiunsky Street, specifically on the section from Lena Street to October Street. The municipal customer for this project is MUK "Glavstroy" of Yakutsk city, with the contractor ZAO "Dorogi Sakha" responsible for laying a new 12 cm thick asphalt surface.

The repair work is part of a broader plan to renovate 11 objects of the street-road network in Yakutsk by 2025, including 8 main and 3 reserve. However, the detailed list of these 11 objects was not provided in the available sources.

The unique environmental conditions of permafrost in Yakutsk add complexity to maintaining and upgrading road infrastructure. The city experiences severe cold with temperatures routinely below -50°C, and infrastructure like roads and buildings are increasingly threatened by thawing permafrost caused by climate change.

The "Infrastructure for Life" project in Yakutsk is part of a broader national initiative in Russia aimed at improving urban infrastructure and living conditions. This effort aligns with systemic goals set by the government, including social infrastructure development like schools and kindergartens across multiple regions including Yakutia.

Cooperation with financial institutions is supporting these infrastructure and socio-economic projects in Yakutia. A recent cooperation agreement signed between Bank ROSSIYA and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is aimed at supporting socio-economic development, including infrastructure investment.

During the asphalt paving of the bridge on Oiunsky Street, traffic will be closed for 3 days from June 27th to 29th. The total length of roads to be repaired under this project is more than 15 km.

As of the current date, the main indicator objects of 2025 for the street-road network in Yakutsk are fully contracted. The "Infrastructure for Life" project in Yakutsk is a significant step towards modernising the city's infrastructure and ensuring a safer and more comfortable living environment for its residents.
