Street on Freital Reopens on Friday
Rabenauer Street to Reopen Before Christmas,With Partial Completion in January
Freital and Rabenau's Rabenauer Street is set to resume traffic by Friday after the route's acceptance on Thursday. The extensive detour, in place since construction began in June, will be lifted following the reopening.
However, the project is not yet fully finished. The bus stops situated above the Rollmops Inn are scheduled to be completed in January, dependent on the weather, starting from January 8, 2024. A half-side closure and traffic light system will ensure construction freedom, avoiding a complete road closure. The completion is slated for the end of January 2024.
According to Mayor Uwe Rumberg, the weather and timely work by the construction company have made the pre-Christmas reopening possible. He expressed gratitude for the hard work put in by everyone involved, as it brings an end to the extended detours for road users and public transportation and eases the restrictions faced by residents.
Originally planned for a completion date in late November 2023, the second and final phase of the comprehensive renovation of the Rabenauer Street (S 193) began in June. The construction, which covered approximately 320 meters of the route, took place from the Rollmops Inn curve to the town exit toward Rabenau, with a full road closure. The estimated cost for this section is around 1.2 million euros.
It is essential to consult local news sources or official announcements from the overseeing authorities for the most current and accurate information regarding any changes to the project timeline due to weather conditions or construction delays.
The completed portion of Rabenauer Street will allow traffic to flow by Friday, easing the transportation of goods and people in the area. Despite the full project not being completed until the end of January 2024, the finance industry and other interested parties can expect some improvement in the infrastructure of Freital and Rabenau, thanks to the part completion before Christmas.
