Stellantis Warns Customers of Phishing Threat After Data Breach
Stellantis, the world's fourth-largest automaker, has alerted customers to be vigilant against potential phishing attempts following a data breach. The company, formed in 2021 through the merger of PSA Group and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, is investigating the incident which may have exposed customer contact information.
Stellantis discovered unauthorized access to a third-party platform, leading to the breach. The investigation is ongoing, and it's unclear which third-party providers are affected. However, the company assures customers that financial or sensitive personal information was not compromised.
Stellantis has launched incident response measures and is working to understand the full extent of the breach. The company has also notified relevant authorities and is in the process of informing affected customers. Stellantis urges customers to be cautious of suspicious links and avoid sharing personal data until further notice.
Stellantis, with revenues of €156.9 billion in 2024 and employing around 248,243 people globally, takes customer data security seriously. The company is committed to resolving the issue and will provide updates as the investigation progresses.
