Solaris Reports 80% Zero-Emission Bus Sales, Expands in North America

Solaris, a leading European bus manufacturer, has reported a significant shift towards zero-emission vehicles and expanding its reach in North America. In the first half of 2025, over 80% of the 765 buses invoiced by Solaris were zero-emission vehicles, marking a substantial commitment to sustainability.

The company's international growth strategy, particularly in the US, has gained momentum. Solaris won a tender in Vancouver, Canada, securing 107 firm orders for trolleybuses, with options for up to 400 more. These buses will be delivered between 2026 and 2027, marking the first time Solaris will supply electric buses to a city in the US.

To further showcase its commitment to the US market, Solaris will unveil a demo bus tailored to the region at the APTA Conference in Chicago in October 2026. Additionally, the company has secured a pilot project in Seattle, USA, covering both 12-metre and 18-metre electric buses to be delivered in the same timeframe.

Solaris also unveiled the Urbino 10.5 Electric, a compact zero-emission bus capable of achieving over 600 km on a single charge. This innovation further solidifies the company's position as a leader in sustainable mobility.

Solaris' first half of 2025 saw a 20% increase in revenue compared to the same period in 2024, reflecting the company's success in its international growth strategy, particularly in the US. With a strong focus on zero-emission vehicles and expanding its presence in the US market, Solaris continues to make significant strides in the bus industry.
