Sochi's Winter Ready: Major Heating Infrastructure Upgrade to Natural Gas
Sochi is gearing up for winter with a major upgrade to its heating infrastructure. The city is converting boiler houses to natural gas, aiming to enhance residents' comfort, cut emissions, and boost local industry.
The conversion project targets Boiler House No. 1 and Boiler House No. 2, both slated to switch from liquefied gas to natural gas by the end of the year. Meanwhile, around 350 km of heat networks have received repairs and hydraulic tests, with 3.7 km of worn-out pipelines replaced.
In Moldovka, Boiler House No. 21A has already made the switch from coal to natural gas. The facility has been equipped with new, high-efficiency water heaters, ensuring better performance and reduced emissions. As the heating season approaches, preparations are complete at 83 out of 84 boiler houses across Sochi.
The conversion of boiler houses to natural gas in Sochi is nearing completion. This shift promises improved comfort for residents, lower emissions, and support for local industry. With preparations for the heating season almost done, Sochi is ready to face the winter.
