Senate Advances Key Energy, Environment Nominees

The Senate has moved forward a package of over 100 nominees, including several for key energy and environment roles. Among them, Catherine Jereza is nominated to become assistant secretary for electricity at the Department of Energy. Neil Jacobs is tapped for NOAA administrator, while Audrey Robertson is set to lead the efficiency and renewables office at the DoE.

The package also includes nominees for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission: Laura Swett and David LaCerte. For the DoE, Timothy Walsh is nominated for assistant secretary for environmental management, and John Busterud is nominated to lead the waste office at the EPA. Usha-Maria Turner is nominated to manage international and tribal issues at the EPA.

The Senate voted to end debate on this extensive package, paving the way for confirmation votes on these and other nominees.
