Seized BMW in Germany: Owner Outraged by Serious Defects
A 2018 BMW sports car has been seized in Sankt Augustin after police discovered serious defects and discrepancies. The vehicle's owner, who bought it for around 50,000 euros, is now considering legal action against the car dealer.
The BMW, originally registered in the USA, had suffered severe damage in a traffic accident there. It was then exported to Lithuania, presumably for repairs, before being imported into Germany. However, the car's lighting equipment and suspension did not match its vehicle type, with parts traced back to a Chinese online shop. The vehicle papers also showed numerous discrepancies with the actual parts installed. A young man driving the car was stopped by police due to a flashing brake light, leading to the discovery of these issues. The car has now been shutdown pending further investigation.
The BMW's owner, who believed the car to be defect-free and accident-free, is now exploring legal options against the car dealer. The police investigation into the vehicle's history and the dealer's practices is ongoing.
