Schweinfurt Customs Uncovers 42 Cases of Potential Labor Law Violations in Hairdressing and Cosmetics Industry

A regional audit in the hairdressing and cosmetics industry by Schweinfurt customs office has uncovered 42 cases of potential violations. The audit, which began on-site with 17 investigations, revealed issues including wage withholding, minimum wage non-payment, illegal employment of foreign workers, and improper receipt of state benefits.

The audit, conducted by 90 officials, inspected 79 businesses and surveyed 166 individuals. It found numerous deficiencies in mandatory notification and recording obligations. The investigation is ongoing, with employee data being cross-checked against company records to ensure compliance with labour laws and tax regulations.
