Sberbank Enters Hotel Spa Project at Yekaterinburg-EXPO
Sberbank has expressed interest in constructing a hotel with a thermal spa at the Yekaterinburg-EXPO exhibition site, a proposal previously overlooked by Yekaterinburg city authorities. The project, set to be completed in three years, will feature around 120 rooms and an outdoor pool.
Initially, in 2024, Deputy Governor Dmitry Ionin mentioned Cosmos Hotel Group's interest in the project. However, Sberbank has now stepped forward as the potential investor. The land plot, situated to the right of the MEC and belonging to the Oblast, will be transferred without tender for the project.
PRINZIP, the company behind the project, presented its vision at the 100+ TechnoBuild forum in Yekaterinburg. The estimated investment volume is around 3 billion rubles. Sverdlovsk authorities have been seeking an investor for this hotel project near the MEC 'Ekaterinburg-EXPO' for several years. Two other companies had previously considered the possibility.
Sberbank's interest in building a hotel with a thermal spa at the Yekaterinburg-EXPO site marks a significant step forward in the project's development. With an estimated investment of 3 billion rubles and a completion timeline of three years, the project is set to bring a new hotel option to the area.
