Santander Recognized as Leader for Serving International Latin American Customers by Euromoney Award

Santander Private Banking has cemented its position as a leading player in the international private banking sector, winning a series of prestigious awards from Euromoney, a renowned financial publication. The bank was named the 'World's Best for International Latin American Clients' and the 'Best International Private Bank in Latin America' for 2025.

The awards, presented in March 2025, recognise Santander's strong financial performance, significant digital innovation, and client-centric focus. The bank's robust financial metrics, operational excellence, and global integration have been key factors in its success.

Santander achieved a return on average equity (ROAE) of 20.2% and a net income of 858 billion Chilean pesos (approximately $0.9 billion) in 2024, reflecting reliable profitability. The bank's launch of the Gravity platform, a proprietary cloud-native core banking system, has positioned it as a global leader in digital banking innovation.

The bank's commitment to customer-centric solutions tailored to international Latin American clients has also driven its strong market position. This approach, combined with its extensive global integration and simplified product offerings, makes Santander more efficient and responsive to client needs.

In addition to these awards, Santander Private Banking was also recognised as the Best Private Bank for Ultra High Net Worth individuals (UHNW) in Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Portugal by Euromoney. The bank also received the award for best entity for discretionary portfolio management in Latin America, Colombia, Mexico, and Portugal.

Alfonso Casillo, global head of Santander Private Banking, expressed his delight at the awards, stating that they are a recognition of the bank's teams worldwide and support its strategy based on customer focus, innovation, and the commitment to attracting and retaining the best talent.

The scope of these awards in Latin America and Europe demonstrates the value of Santander Private Banking's global platform combined with local knowledge and presence in each market it operates. Assets under management by Santander Private Banking reached a new record of nearly 500 billion euros in December 2024, a 13% increase compared to the end of the previous year.

Euromoney has identified the best practices in private banking and wealth management globally for over 20 years. These awards reaffirm Santander Private Banking’s leadership in the region and its commitment to delivering excellence to its clients.
