Rübezahl-Riegelein Group Names Sascha Löhr as New CEO for Marketing and Sales

The Rübezahl-Riegelein Group, a prominent player in the confectionery industry, has announced significant changes in its management. Peter Riegelein, the current CEO, will step down from his operational role at the end of this year. Meanwhile, Sascha Löhr will take over as CEO for Marketing and Sales starting January 1, 2025.

The company's evolution can be traced back to 2019, when Confiserie Riegelein merged with Rübezahl-Schokoladen to form the Rübezahl-Riegelein Group. This merger expanded the company's product range, now encompassing brands such as Riegelein, Sun Rice, Gubor, Friedel, Fanshop Sweets, Chocri, and Eichetti.

Peter Riegelein played a pivotal role in the strategic realignment of the company following the merger. Under his leadership, the company prioritized sustainability and Fairtrade certifications. Notably, Riegelein became the first confectionery company to switch its entire range to the Fairtrade Rohstoff Siegel. His departure comes after Sascha Löhr's decision to leave his position as responsible for marketing and distribution at the Gubor Schokoladen parent company, where Alexander Noack will take over some of his responsibilities.

As Peter Riegelein steps down, the company looks to Sascha Löhr to lead marketing and sales efforts in the new year. The Rübezahl-Riegelein Group's commitment to sustainability and Fairtrade practices, championed by Riegelein, is expected to continue under the new leadership.
