Rimi Latvia's First Test Store in Riga to Focus on Economy Products
Rimi Latvia, part of the Maxima Grupė, is set to open its first test store in Riga this autumn. The store will prioritise economy products and special offers, aiming to reduce the share of non-food items by 22%.
The new store will be located in Riga and will focus on food products. Rimi plans to increase the share of private label products to 33%. To achieve this, the store will reduce the range of non-food items such as candles and home decorations by a fifth, clothing by 14%, and small electrical appliances by half. There will be no yarn products offered in the store. The whole foods segment, however, will be increased from 13% to 18%. The store will also reduce the share of premium food products, focusing instead on average consumption and economy segment products.
