Meyers Manx Unveils New Electric and Neighborhood Electric Vehicles at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering
Meyers Manx, the iconic company known for producing the original fiberglass dune buggy body, is celebrating its 60th anniversary in style. At The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, a premier event during Monterey Car Week, the company is presenting a new lineup of vehicles that includes the Meyers Manx 2.0 Electric Vehicle (EV) and Resorter Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV).
The new lineup marks a significant milestone for Meyers Manx as both the 2.0 EV and Resorter NEV models have now reached full street-drivability. Phillip Sarofim, Meyers Manx chairman, expressed his excitement, stating that The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, held at the prestigious Quail Lodge & Golf Club, is a remarkable stage for showcasing the company's vision.
The Meyers Manx Tarmac Touring Edition, an all-new aviation-inspired remastered two-seat buggy, is one of the highlights of the new lineup. Powered by a 2.0-liter three-cylinder radial engine, originally crafted for sport aircraft, this unique vehicle is renowned for its exceptional engineering and unique exhaust note. Only six of these limited-edition vehicles will be produced.
The interior of the 2.0 EV production teaser includes reproduction Old Red seats trimmed in marine-grade white vinyl, while the Resorter NEV production teaser will appear in an all-new Crystal Cove metallic blue body with marine-grade white vinyl seats. The Remastered Resorter kit, produced using 3D scanning and CNC technology for precision, offers more rear-seat room and is easier for skilled home builders to assemble.
Key engineering targets have been set for both vehicles regarding driving performance, range and power, quality, reliability, safety, and ergonomics. The Meyers Manx Tarmac Touring Edition features a proprietary digital instrument panel, while the Resorter NEV boasts improved stiffness and design in its updated frame.
Remastered Resorter kits will be available to order this fall, with pricing to be announced closer to launch. The 2.0 EV production teaser features an updated Old Red livery with a signature white marine canvas Bimini roof and green graphic accents.
Michael Potiker, a co-founder of Meyers Manx, would be proud to see the company's continued innovation and commitment to quality. The new lineup is a testament to Meyers Manx's enduring spirit and its dedication to creating vehicles that combine classic design with modern technology.
