Salad and Go and Olive Garden Adjust Operations

In a recent announcement, Mike Tattersfield, the CEO of Salad and Go, has revealed plans for a more focused growth strategy for the company. Tattersfield, who became the CEO in April 2025 and a minority owner, aims to implement a 'much more disciplined growth rate.'

Based in Arizona, Salad and Go operates over 140 company-owned stores across Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, and Nevada. All of these stores are drive-through and grab-and-go only, offering a variety of menu items including salads, wraps, soup, drinks, breakfast burritos, and bowls.

However, Salad and Go is closing 41 stores nationwide. The affected locations include all stores in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, as well as some in the Dallas metro area and Oklahoma. Despite these closures, the company will continue to operate in the Dallas metro area and Oklahoma.

Tattersfield plans to focus on leveraging the product aspect of Salad and Go's kitchens and being innovative to meet customer demands. He also emphasised that this change will give the company the foundation to grow stronger and make delicious, nutritious food accessible to all.

Meanwhile, Olive Garden, another well-known chain based in Phoenix, is also making changes. The company is testing a smaller portion menu at reduced prices nationwide. Olive Garden will continue to operate all existing stores in Phoenix, Tucson, Arizona, and Las Vegas.

Salad and Go's mission, like Olive Garden, is to provide quality food at affordable prices. Salad and Go aims to source ingredients locally, keeping menu items under $10. The current location of Mike Tattersfield, CEO of Salad and Go, is not publicly disclosed.

In a statement, Tattersfield mentioned that concentrating their efforts will allow them to strengthen the brand and invest more in improving quality, driving innovation, and building community. He also highlighted that this strategic shift will ultimately position the company for long-term success.

With these changes, both Salad and Go and Olive Garden are demonstrating their commitment to adapting to the current market conditions and providing the best possible experience for their customers.
