Montage Technology Unveils Jintide C6P Server Processors with Enhanced Security Features

Montage Technology, a leading Chinese semiconductor company, has announced the launch of its new Jintide C6P series of server processors. These processors are designed with a focus on data protection and trusted computing acceleration, incorporating hardware acceleration for data encryption and decryption [1][3].

The Jintide C6P processors are based on Intel's Granite Rapids Xeon platform, reconfigured for the Chinese market with enhanced security features [2]. While the specific encryption and decryption algorithms used in the Jintide C6P series are not explicitly detailed in the available sources, it is likely that they support industry-standard encryption algorithms commonly used in server and trusted computing environments, such as AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), RSA, or SHA-based algorithms [4].

The Jintide C6P processors are targeted towards sensitive sectors like government, healthcare, and finance, implying robust cryptographic support [4]. The processors will have 2S scalability, eight-channel DDR6-6400 RDIMM and DDR5-8000 MDRIMM support, 88 high-speed PCIe 5.0 lanes, and CXL 2.0 support [5].

Interestingly, Montage Technology has a history of releasing processors. The fifth-generation Jintide chips were launched two years ago, based on Emerald Rapids. However, it remains unclear if Montage Technology will bring Granite Rapids-AP to the Chinese market [6].

Montage Technology's collaboration with Tsinghua University dates back to 2016, when they struck a special deal with Intel [7]. The Jintide C6P processors, shown to be based on the Xeon 6787P in press images, are Montage Technology's latest offering in the server processor market.

While the exact encryption and decryption algorithms in the Jintide C6P series remain unspecified, the focus on data protection and robust cryptographic support suggests that these processors are set to play a significant role in the Chinese market, particularly in sectors where data security is paramount.
