Remarkable discovery: Study reveals that a mere 145 Romanian businesses have sustainably increased their growth for an impressive stretch of 17 consecutive years
In Romania, a remarkable group of 145 companies has stood out, consistently increasing revenues and maintaining profitability from 2008 to 2024. This fascinating finding comes from a study published by business intelligence platform Termene.ro.
These 145 companies, representing only 0.02% of the total businesses in Romania, have a significant impact on the country's economy. In the latest year, they collectively generated a turnover of RON 56.6 billion.
The study did not disclose the names of these profitable companies, but it was revealed that they belong to various industries, including banking, energy, and retail/e-commerce. Notable mentions include Banca Transilvania, OMV Petrom, and eMAG.
Despite the study's comprehensive nature, it did not provide details about the growth strategies these companies employed to remain profitable. Similarly, information about the number of employees in these companies and their geographical distribution across Romania was not disclosed.
One intriguing fact that emerged from the study is that more than 90% of the total turnover increase between 2008 and 2024 was generated by these 145 companies. This underscores their significant role in the Romanian economy.
However, the study did not disclose the net profit margins of these companies. It's a piece of information that would provide further insight into their financial health and success.
