City authorities refuse to sanction the legitimization and revamp of the establishment known as Kamaleonica 84, located within the old train station.

Rejecting the authorization for the legalization and transformation of the historical Kamaleonica 84 in the aged train station is highly contested in urban circles.

In the heart of Cordoba, Spain, the trendy restaurant and bar Kamaleonika 84 has been a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. However, the establishment's future is currently uncertain, as the Urban Planning Department of Cordoba has denied the license for its legalization and reform.

The lease for the local expired in 2020, a five-year lease that was formalized in 2015 when it was ceded to Antigua Estacion SL. The previous managers gave rise to Amazonica, a popular brand at the time. Since then, the management has been in the hands of Bamba Cafe Teatro SL.

At the beginning of the year, the City Council rejected an appeal from Bamba Cafe Teatro SL to extend the use of the local. The denial of the license for Kamaleonika 84's legalization and reform was made by the Urban Planning Department of Cordoba. The exact reasons for the denial remain unclear, but such decisions typically depend on local municipal regulations, zoning laws, safety codes, or compliance issues.

In 2020, the City Council found that Bamba Cafe Teatro SL owes the municipal coffers 35,000 euros in rent and opened a disciplinary file for unauthorized works. Despite this, the old train station where Kamaleonika 84 is located, on the Paseo de Cordoba (Vial), remains open due to a situation of administrative irregularity.

In an attempt to clarify the situation, Bamba Cafe Teatro SL submitted a project for the legalization and renovation of a municipal-owned local in February 2024. However, the project has not yet been resolved, and the Urban Planning Department has not issued a license for the reform.

The PP, a political party in Cordoba, has proposed putting the municipal local up for tender again, which was part of the old San Rafael station. To find the exact reason for the denial, one might consider contacting the Córdoba city council or municipal licensing office, reviewing public records or official notices, or consulting with the restaurant owners or their representatives.

In light of the financial obligations owed by Bamba Cafe Teatro SL to the Cordoba City Council, the future of the trendy restaurant and bar Kamaleonika 84 remains uncertain, as the urban planning department has denied the license for its legalization and reform. This move could potentially influence real-estate investors, considering the property's prime location. The denial may have been prompted by municipal regulations, zoning laws, safety codes, or compliance issues, as is typically the case with such decisions.
