Prices of Hyte's computer cases are reduced, marking the initial adjustment since the declaration of tariffs - certain items restore to their prepaid tariff-free cost.
Hyte Lowers Prices of Y-Series PC Cases in Response to U.S.-China Trade Deal
Good news for PC builders and enthusiasts as Hyte, a popular PC case manufacturer, has announced a pricing rollback for most of its Y-series cases in the U.S. This move comes following the recent tentative trade deal between the U.S. and China, which has lowered tariffs on Chinese imports into the U.S. to 30%.
The Y40, Y60, and Y70 models have returned to their original prices of approximately $129, $179, and $219, respectively. The flagship Y70 Touch Infinite case has also seen a price drop of $40, lowering it from $439 to $399, though it remains about $20 above its original price prior to tariffs.
However, not all models are fully back to pre-tariff pricing. The Y70 Touch (non-Infinite) case is $40 cheaper than its tariff-inflated price but still $20 more expensive than its original USD price tag, so it is partially excluded from the full price rollback.
It's worth noting that all "licensed items" produced by Hyte remain affected by tariffs and have not seen any price reductions at this time due to specific manufacturing processes that keep their costs higher despite the trade deal.
Here's a breakdown of the price changes for each model:
| Model | Price Status | |-----------------------|---------------------------------| | Y40 | Returned to pre-tariff pricing | | Y60 | Returned to pre-tariff pricing | | Y70 | Returned to pre-tariff pricing | | Y70 Touch Infinite | $40 off but slightly above pre-tariff | | Y70 Touch (standard) | $40 off but still $20 above pre-tariff | | Licensed items | No price reduction; still tariff-affected |
This pricing update reflects Hyte's response to the trade deal easing tariffs, but some models and licensed products are still impacted by tariffs and manufacturing constraints.
Despite this, the pricing rollback is a positive development for PC builders and enthusiasts, offering more affordable options after months of uncertainty. However, Hyte is still facing challenges in reducing costs further, such as potential increases in product prices if they were to move production to Vietnam or Thailand, or if a 25% tariff on aluminum were to be imposed.
In the meantime, the company cannot move its manufacturing operations into the U.S. due to the high cost of labor and operations. The Revolt 3 SFF case and the upcoming X50 and X50 Air introduced at Computex 2025 may not be part of the pricing rollback.
Hyte had halted shipments to U.S. customers earlier this year due to import taxes from President Trump's tariffs. The company cannot absorb such high tariffs as it only earns a 5% profit from its sales. The pricing for the Y70 Touch Infinite remains at $399, while the Y70, Y60, and Y40 are back to their previous prices.

- In the face of the U.S.-China trade deal easing tariffs, Hyte has strategically decided to use the cost savings to lower prices of its Y-series PC cases, demonstrating a proactive approach towards finance.
- Despite the pricing rollback, some specific models and licensed products are still bound by tariffs and manufacturing constraints, signifying the continuous influence of technology on Hyte's supply chain dynamics.
