Police authority in Oldenburg's region scrutinizes cargo traffic on the A1 highway near Wildeshausen, resulting in a ban on ongoing traffic in 14 instances.
On the 16th of September, 2025, the Oldenburg Police Directorate conducted a vehicle control action in the Wildeshausen-South service area. The focus of the control was on the roadworthiness and operational safety of vehicles in commercial goods traffic.
The day began with a tractor-trailer traveling from France to Hamburg being stopped at around 10:00 AM. The vehicle was carrying 23 tons of flat steel, but it was discovered that the cargo was not properly secured during the vehicle inspection. As a result, a fine procedure was initiated against the 54-year-old driver and the responsible person of the forwarding company.
At around 1:50 PM, another tractor-trailer was stopped, this one transporting a bulldozer from Osnabrück to Hagen im Bremischen. Several lashing straps had already been cut through, leaving parts of the cargo completely unsecured on the loading platform. The driver was required to perform resecuring work before being allowed to continue his journey.
Around the same time, a tractor-trailer was en route from the Netherlands to Hamburg, transporting steel parts of a biogas plant. The cargo was inadequately secured, and a crack in a brake disc was discovered. The trailer was deemed unroadworthy and accompanied to a workshop. A fine procedure is now pending against the 49-year-old driver.
The day's inspections concluded at 3:30 PM, with a total of 25 vehicles inspected. Regrettably, 14 vehicles were found unfit for further travel. The police are reminding all commercial vehicle drivers to ensure their vehicles are in good working condition and their cargo is securely fastened to prevent any accidents on the road.
Despite the name of the person responsible for the transport company involved in the control between 1:50 PM and 2:00 PM on September 16, 2025, in Wildeshausen, for the oversize truck without the required special permit, not being mentioned in the available search results, the Oldenburg Police Directorate encourages all transport companies to adhere to the regulations to ensure the safety of the roads and other road users.
