Pension increases come into effect in Belarus from September 1.

In Belarus, a significant boost to retirement pensions has been announced. According to reports from Mikhail Svetlov, a journalist covering the story, President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree to increase labor pensions[1].

The average retirement pension in September 2021, following this increase, is expected to be approximately Br 980[2][4]. This marks the second increase in 2025: a 10% rise effective from February 1 and an additional 5% increase starting September 1, 2025[1][2][4].

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection reported that the pension recalculation on September 1 will increase payments by an average of 5%, with total pension expenditures expected around Br 2.2 billion, including Br 107 million as additional funds to cover the increase[1][2][4].

This means that the cumulative pension increase for 2025 is over 20%, benefiting more than 2.3 million labor pension recipients in Belarus[1].

It is important to note that these increases do not apply to various financial products such as Consumer Loans, Auto Loans, Business Loans, Mortgages, Deposits, Loans, Business Current Accounts, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, New Auto Leasing Services, Used Auto Leasing Services, or Business Auto Leasing Services[3].
