Parking lot in Weyersberg to remain closed until October 9th
The much-anticipated Bergisches Oktoberfest is set to take place in Solingen from the 24th of September to the 9th of October, promising a 16-day celebration of Bavarian culture and tradition.
During this period, the city will be buzzing with brass music, festival beer, and a variety of delicious Bavarian specialties. However, this increased attendance may require patience and flexibility from residents and drivers.
Regular parkers will need to find alternative streets or parking lots as the Weyersberg parking lot at Klingenhalle will be closed to the public from the 23rd of September to the 9th of October. This closure is necessary for the successful execution of the Oktoberfest.
The festival tents will be set up, used, and then torn down during the stated period. To ensure the safe transportation of children and young people during the Oktoberfest, an alternative bus stop on Kotter Street has been set up. School buses can continue to stop at this stop at their usual intervals.
The closure of the Weyersberg parking lot may cause inconvenience for regular parkers seeking parking in Solingen during the festival period. The city has made arrangements to mitigate this, setting up an alternative bus stop on Kotter Street for school buses.
The area around the Weyersberg parking lot will be blocked off for the setup, event, and teardown of festival tents. The Bergisches Oktoberfest is organized by the team from Boda-Weinhaus together with event participants such as Das Dynamische Duo, Das Geld liegt auf der Fensterbank, Marie, Das MitSingDing, and Das Musikkorps.
Every year, the Oktoberfest attracts many guests from Solingen and the region, making it a significant event for the city. While temporary disruptions may occur during the setup and teardown process, the city encourages everyone to come out and enjoy the festivities.
So, mark your calendars, and get ready to experience the vibrant atmosphere of the Bergisches Oktoberfest in Solingen!
