Over 7,600 loans granted in the Kuban region.

In a positive turn of events, local companies are flourishing thanks to credit funds that are enabling them to expand production, implement novel technologies, and boost their competitive edge.

Alexei Yurtayev, the Regional Minister of Economy, has highlighted the impact of subsidies and guarantees, which have improved financing conditions for businesses. As a result, agricultural producers have secured 745 loans worth a staggering 17.5 billion rubles since the beginning of the year. These funds are being used for purchasing new equipment, improving production capacities, and replenishing working capital.

According to the Minister of Economy, a total of 7,681 loans with a combined value of 375.8 billion rubles have been issued so far this year. A significant portion of these loans, approximately 163 billion rubles, have been granted to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Under the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy," SMEs can benefit from preferential investment lending. These funds can be used not only for investments but also for operational expenses. Loan amounts range from 50 million to 2 billion rubles.

In the Krasnodar region, businesses have access to support institutions that offer loans at advantageous rates and act as guarantors. The region also provides preferential mortgage programs. To date, a total of 5,568 loans worth over 30 billion rubles have been issued under these programs.

Key challenges in SME financing can include a lack of awareness, confidence in applications, and limited access to larger loans. Solutions to these issues often involve financial education, outreach, and targeted support for growth financing.

Despite the ongoing focus on SME growth and competitiveness, significant barriers persist in accessing finance, such as a lack of awareness, confidence in applications, and limited access to larger loans. Addressing these challenges could be strategic for the industry, potentially involving financial education, outreach, and targeted support for growth financing, similar to international SME lending programs like the EBRD's Sustainable Reboot SME Programme and World Bank and IICA projects.
