Over 300 billion tenge allocated for employment strategy plan
Scooping up a Whopping 300 Billion Tenge for Kazakhstan's Employment Drive
Gear up, Kazakhstan! A mammoth sum of 300 billion tenge is about to roll in for the implementation of the Employment Roadmap, according to Vice-Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Serik Shapkenov. The announcement was made at a government meeting, as reported by Total.kz.
Since 2020, the Employment Roadmap, an essential part of the anti-crisis package, has been fighting the good fight. In 2020 alone, it hauled more than 6,600 infrastructure projects under its wing. From construction and repairs to putting people back to work, a staggering 239,000 found their footing! Of these, a remarkable 120,000 were set on the career path through the employment service centers.
The Employment Roadmap is making waves in various sectors, transforming the lives of rural residents, schools, and healthcare facilities. It's been playing a integral role in solving issues like severley understaffed schools, inadequate access to education, healthcare services, clean drinking water, and expanding farmland and pastures. Things are happening, and they're happening fast!
But where's the money coming from?
Approximately 200 billion tenge is coming straight from the National Bank, courtesy of bond financing, following the lead of the Head of State.
The Employment Roadmap isn't just about jobs. It's also tackling the tough topics of improving the quality of life, expanding financing for Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs), fostering the agro-industrial complex, and promoting business in the regions.
A hefty sum of 127.5 billion tenge is earmarked for enhancing the quality of life, 100 billion tenge for the agro-industrial complex, and 72.5 billion tenge for regional business development and microcrediting through microfinance organizations in collaboration with the Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken" and local executive bodies.
This year, the Employment Roadmap is estimated to generate 35,600 jobs, with over 55% of these positions turning into permanent positions. With their families included, the number of people poised to enjoy a stable income soars to roughly 80,000!
As we peer over the fence, we see that Kazakhstan hosts other initiatives focused on bolstering employment and economic development, such as the Business Roadmap 2025 (BRM 2025) program. This popular program provides financial assistance, training, and consulting services to entrepreneurs in various sectors. The BRM 2025 is all about developing businesses in non-extractive and import-substituting sectors, as well as supporting rural and single-industry town entrepreneurs.
Other initiatives, like Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and programs focusing on SME support, contribute to the economy by enhancing access to financing, fostering growth in sectors like agriculture, industry, and services, and attracting foreign investment. These initiatives, among others, work together to create jobs and boost living standards by building a more diverse and robust economy.
While we don't have the blueprint of the Employment Roadmap for 2021, we're pretty sure it's gonna be a game changer! Stay tuned for more juicy details.
