The automotive industry in China is seeing a significant shift, and at the forefront of this change is Chery's latest offering, the Sterra ET. This high-end electric vehicle (EV) is making waves with its advanced features and cutting-edge technology.

Equipped with Nvidia's Drive Orin chip, the Sterra ET boasts an impressive 508 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) of computing power. This powerful hardware allows the vehicle to process vast amounts of data in real-time, ensuring swift response and execution times, even without a stable internet connection or in weak network conditions.

In terms of in-vehicle voice functions, the Sterra ET is integrated with iFlytek's Starfire large model, supporting a staggering 1,800 commands. This means drivers can expect a seamless and intuitive experience, with the ability to control various aspects of the vehicle using voice commands.

Chery's rival, BYD, is also making strides in the EV market. They plan to launch nineteen new electric and extended-range models within the next 20 months, aiming to compete directly with Chery's offerings.

The Sterra ET's intelligent driving capabilities are based on the "Navigation on Exeed Pilot" (NEP) system. This system, which is said to cover 330 cities across China, is expected to be operational upon delivery. With over 30 sensors capable of identifying road environments in various weather conditions, the Sterra ET is designed to ensure safety and efficiency, even in challenging driving conditions.

Chery's aspirations for the Sterra ET extend beyond just a new model. It is part of their strategy towards brand premiumization, positioning the Sterra ET as a symbol of luxury and innovation in the Chinese automotive industry.

In addition to the Sterra ET, Chery also plans to release 15 pure-electric and extended-range models, as well as 24 plug-in hybrid models, within the next 20 months. Among these models, Exeed is Chery's focus for the high-end market, with plans to introduce six new Exeed models in the next three years.

At a projected RMB 1 million (USD 138,400), the Sterra ET could potentially set a new high for exported Chinese cars. With its advanced technology and premium features, the Sterra ET is poised to make a strong impact in the global automotive news.
