New Bus Stops on Ziesarer Landstraße Boost Safety and Accessibility
Two new bus stops on Ziesarer Landstraße, near the Netto market, have been equipped with modern facilities. The project, announced by Jan Schulz, head of the road construction administration, includes tactile elements, transparent shelters, and a ramp for pedestrians and cyclists. The area now boasts a well-lit, marked pedestrian crossing, making it safer and barrier-free.
The project, approved at the end of September, was completed two months ahead of schedule. It was funded by Land Brandenburg, with 75 percent coming from the 'Improvement of traffic conditions in public passenger transport' program. The total cost amounted to around 500,000 euros. The new bus stops are equipped with tactile elements to assist visually impaired individuals, transparent shelters for better visibility, and a ramp on the pedestrian and cycle path side for easier access.
The completion of this project has significantly improved safety and accessibility on Ziesarer Landstraße near the Netto market. The barrier-free pedestrian crossing and bus stops are a testament to the region's commitment to inclusive and efficient public transport.
