Genesis Motor Europe, the European arm of the Korean luxury automaker, has announced the appointment of Peter Kronschnabl as its new managing director, effective from August 4, 2025. Kronschnabl will take over at the European headquarters in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Kronschnabl brings over 30 years of extensive experience in the automotive industry, primarily from the BMW Group. He has held various leadership roles in marketing, sales, and business development. His most recent position at BMW was Vice President of Market Development and Special Sales, where he was responsible for emerging markets since 2021. Previously, he served as President & CEO of BMW Group Japan, President of BMW Group Belgium and Luxembourg, President of BMW India, and led BMW’s operations in Russia.
Kronschnabl's background emphasizes premium automotive brands and market development, making him well positioned to spearhead Genesis’s expansion in Europe. The company is planning to expand its all-electric lineup into France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands, with customer deliveries expected in early 2026.

Xavier Martinet, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe, has served in the role of Genesis Motor Europe’s managing director on an interim basis. Kronschnabl is succeeding Martinet in the role.
