Mutares' Acquisition Spree Boosts Profit, Eyes €7.5B Revenue in 2025

Mutares, a Munich-based investment firm, has been on a roll with over 20 acquisitions in recent months. The company's stock rose by over two percent on Friday following the news of these strategic moves. Mutares aims to strengthen its portfolio and expand into new segments despite challenging economic conditions.

Mutares' acquisitions include Austrian special vehicle manufacturer Achleitner and Italian drum brake specialist AUMOVIO, expected to contribute around 100 million euros in sales by 2025. The company also acquired the European business of aluminum facade system provider Kawneer, adding another 400 employees across three countries to its workforce.

Mutares' internal M&A department has shown remarkable professionalism in completing these deals. The company's strategy involves acquiring businesses in special situations at favorable prices, operationally restructuring them, and later selling them profitably. This approach has led to a 32% increase in net profit in the first half of 2025, reaching around 70 million euros.

Looking ahead, Mutares has announced strengthened exit activities for 2025, with the sale of portfolio company Clecim to Fouré Lagadec expected to close in the fourth quarter. The company is targeting revenues of 6.5 to 7.5 billion euros and a net profit of between 130 and 160 million euros for the year. Mutares' successful acquisition strategy has positioned it well to achieve these ambitious targets.
