Motorists in Kurgan resort to driving on lawns due to recent road impediments.
In the heart of Kurgan's Zaozerny district, the much-anticipated road, Farafonova Street, was expected to improve the district's transport accessibility. However, several weeks after the completion of all work, the official opening has yet to take place.
Drivers are now forced to navigate around the unopened road, with some having to detour onto grass and sidewalks, causing ruts to form. Adding to the confusion, access from Malychev Prospect to Farafonova Street has been blocked again by concrete blocks.
Despite the delay, traffic lights, lighting, and markings were functioning on the new road, indicating that it was ready for use. Interestingly, traffic on Farafonova Street was previously launched without an official opening.
Residents of the district are puzzled as to why the authorities have blocked one of the entrances to the almost completed road after briefly allowing traffic on it. The incident was reported by the Telegram channel "Zazik", citing a subscriber. For those interested in Kurgan news, subscribing to the "Kurganistan" Telegram channel is recommended.
The official inauguration of Farafonova Street in the Zaozerny district of Kurgan is now scheduled for September 23, 2025. The new road, like Alekseev Street, was expected to boost the district's transport accessibility. However, until then, drivers will have to find alternative routes to navigate the district.
