Mönchengladbach Police & Diakonie Team Up to Aid Homeless Women

Mönchengladbach Police has joined forces with the Diakonie to support homeless women in the city. The 'Women's Project' aims to provide essential aid and warm clothing as the cold season approaches.

The police, along with their relatives, have collected over 30 boxes of donations, including winter clothing, hygiene items, food, sleeping bags, and mats. Kriminalrat Rebekka Höfken and Police Commissioner Melanie Brandtner handed these over to the Diakonie on behalf of the police force.

Mascha Theißen, a social worker with the Diakonie, assisted in loading the donation boxes during this police-supported initiative. The Diakonie will now distribute these donations to homeless women in Mönchengladbach, many of whom are often hidden and not reached by usual aid offers. The goal is to prepare them for the cold season and prevent their situation from worsening.

The Diakonie welcomes further donations to support the 'Women's Project'. Those who wish to help can donate items on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 to 11 am at Oskar-Kühlen-Straße. The Mönchengladbach Police's support, along with the community's generosity, will ensure that homeless women in the city receive the essential aid they need during the cold season.
