In the vast expanse of Kamchatka Krai, the Ministry of Forestry and Hunting has been working tirelessly to ensure the preservation and protection of the region's forests. Last year, a significant effort was made, with a total of 3,600 forest patrols conducted.

These patrols, which extended the length of forest patrol routes by 30,500 kilometers, aimed to maintain the integrity of the forest fund. The most common violations encountered were breaches of logging rules, fire safety violations, and sanitary rules violations.

This vigilance paid off, as these patrols resulted in 170 administrative offenses and six criminal cases. The top performers in forest supervision on their respective territories were the Milkovskoye, Bystrinskoye, and Elizovskoye forestry departments.

Among the standout individuals in this endeavour were Galina Doronina, a consultant of the forest control department of the Kamchatka Krai Ministry of Forestry and Hunting, and Dmitry Dudkin, head of the Milkovskoye forestry department. Both were recognised as some of the best inspectors of 2024.

Sergey Burya, head of the Bystrinskoye forestry department, also made a significant contribution, earning a place among the best inspectors of the year. However, there is no publicly available information on who made the best contribution in forest inspection in the Milkovskoye, Bystrinskoye, and Elizovskoye forestry authorities in 2024.

Denis Egorov, head of the federal state forest control department of the Kamchatka Krai Ministry of Forestry and Hunting, expressed his gratitude to the residents and visitors of the peninsula for their active participation in reporting any cases of forest law violations. He encouraged everyone to continue this practice by dialling the short number 112.

The efforts of the Kamchatka Krai Ministry of Forestry and Hunting were not in vain, as the budget of Kamchatka Krai received 2.5 million rubles from fines and compensation for damage caused to the forest fund. These funds will undoubtedly be put to good use in continuing the important work of preserving and protecting Kamchatka Krai's forests.
