Mercedes-Benz debuts in Patna, viewing Bihar as a significant up-and-coming market

Patna, the bustling city of Bihar, is now home to a new Mercedes-Benz showroom, marking a significant milestone for the luxury automaker in India. Santosh Iyer, MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, expressed his delight at the inauguration, stating that Patna represents the evolving aspirations of new-age customers with a growing appetite for luxury products, services, and experiences.

The new showroom, spanning across 16,500 square feet, is the first 3S (Sales, Service, and Spares) facility for the brand in Patna. It can display the complete Mercedes-Benz model range, including the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, and AMG performance models. Customers will have access to test drives, vehicle handovers in a dedicated bay, after-sales service, digital consultation tools, and dedicated customer lounges at the facility.

The showroom is also equipped with an electric vehicle support ecosystem, featuring a 60W DC fast charger for electric vehicles. This is a testament to Mercedes-Benz's commitment to electric mobility in India.

Mercedes-Benz India's electric portfolio currently includes top-end EVs such as the EQS sedan, EQS SUV, and G580 electric, all priced above ₹65 lakh. However, the upcoming CLA EVs will add a more accessible, premium electric option for the Indian market.

The all-new electric CLA 250 plus is set to launch in India by the end of 2025, priced around ₹60 lakh. This compact luxury electric sedan will feature advanced technology, strong efficiency, and a premium driving experience. The CLA Shooting Brake EV, an all-electric estate version, has also been unveiled globally, boasting up to 761 km range (WLTP), dual-motor powertrain variant, and premium features like a star-lit panoramic roof. However, its launch in India has not yet been confirmed.

This represents Mercedes-Benz's expansion into a wider range of EVs in India beyond their current high-end portfolio. The upcoming CLA EVs will offer Indian customers a more affordable, premium electric option.

Mercedes-Benz is also planning to expand its presence in India by opening additional retail outlets in Kanpur, Varanasi, and Udaipur. This move is expected to further strengthen the brand's presence in the country.

In summary, the key upcoming electric vehicles from Mercedes-Benz in India are:

| Model | Type | Expected Launch | Price (Approx.) | Notes | |----------------------|-------------------|-------------------------|-----------------|----------------------------------------------| | CLA 250 plus | Electric Sedan | End of 2025 | ₹60 lakh | Compact segment, advanced tech, premium EV | | CLA Shooting Brake EV| Electric Estate | Not confirmed for India | N/A | Long range (761 km WLTP), premium features |
