Memmingen Airport to Reduce Flights, Adds New Italian Destination for Winter 2025/2026

Memmingen Airport, operated by Flughafen Memmingen GmbH, serves approximately 3.2 million passengers annually. It's Germany's highest elevated commercial airport, located about four kilometers east of Memmingen city center. The airport is set to experience reduced flights in mid-November to mid-December and mid-January to mid-February, with a new destination to Lamezia Terme in Italy announced for the winter flight schedule 2025/2026.

Memmingen Airport is primarily served by Ryanair and Wizz Air, with other airlines like Play (now defunct) and seasonal or charter carriers having operated there in the past. Despite the reduction in flights, the airport expects a large number of additional flights at Christmas to compensate for the decrease in November. Passengers affected by cancellations can usually be rebooked or refunded.

Ryanair, which will maintain all its routes except for Riga, will reduce flight frequencies during periods of low demand. Flights to Tel Aviv are currently not being served due to the local political situation. Despite the cancellations, Memmingen Airport still expects around 3.5 million passengers by the end of the year, with a potential reduction of 30,000 to 40,000 passengers due to cancellations.
