MART Seeks Consumer Feedback to Enhance Marketplace Regulation
The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) is actively seeking consumer opinions to enhance marketplace regulation. The ministry aims to bring order to marketplace operations and safeguard consumer rights. An online survey, set to close on October 10, 2025, is currently underway to gather consumer feedback about marketplace and pick-up point operations.
MART's efforts are part of a larger project, the president's decree 'On the Improvement of Consumer Market Regulation'. This project includes plans for mandatory internet platform registration and the right for MART to limit access to platforms in case of violations. To further regulate the market, online stores will be required to maintain a list of mandatory products for sale.
In pursuit of fair competition, MART has assembled representatives from leading marketplaces such as Wildberries, OZON, Onliner, Emall, and Kufar. These discussions are aimed at implementing regulatory changes that benefit both consumers and businesses.
MART's initiatives, including the online survey and discussions with marketplace representatives, demonstrate a commitment to improving consumer market regulation. The implementation of these changes is expected to foster a more orderly and fair marketplace, ultimately protecting consumer rights and promoting healthy competition.
