New Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor Offers Long-Distance Electric Travel
The Polestar 3, the Swedish electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer's flagship electric SUV, has expanded its lineup with the introduction of the Long Range Single Motor variant. This model, now available for configuration and order on the company's website, offers a certified range of up to 706 km (438 miles WLTP) or 350 miles (EPA), making it an attractive choice for long-distance travelers.
Powered by a single rear motor delivering approximately 220 kW (299 horsepower) and 490 Nm of torque, the Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.8 seconds. The vehicle is equipped with a 111 kWh lithium-ion battery and supports peak 250 kW DC fast charging, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes.
Inside, the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor model boasts a range of premium features designed to enhance comfort and convenience. These include a three-zone climate control system, keyless entry and start, wireless charging, and a suite of USB-C ports. The vehicle also integrates Android Auto and Google apps, offering access to popular streaming services like Spotify and Tidal.
A 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system and high-definition LED headlights are available as add-ons, while the interior can be personalized with six exterior colors, five interior themes, and four wheel designs.
The Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3 maintains Polestar's hallmark dynamic performance, thanks in part to its sophisticated suspension system, which includes Hydraulic Rebound Stops (HRS) and Frequency Selective Damping (FSD).
As part of its commitment to sustainable mobility, Polestar is working towards expanding its portfolio to five EV models by 2026. The company is also continuing to advance the Polestar 0 project, aiming for a climate-neutral car by 2030.
CEO Michael Lohscheller celebrated the milestone, stating that the new variant broadens the appeal of the Polestar 3. The Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3 is priced at €79,890, including handover fees, and is available in select markets such as Australia and North America.
