Madrid's Decision to Enlist Another Star from the Premier League, According to AS Reports

Real Madrid is considering signing another standout player from the Premier League, as reported by AS, using anonymous sources.

The La Liga and Champions League titleholders have shown interest in Liverpool's homegrown player, Trent Alexander Arnold, who is currently leading the English Premier League.

According to MARCA, the Liverpool star has expressed his desire to play for the team that beat his current team in the 2018 and 2022 Champions League finals. By allowing his contract to expire on June 30, 2023, and then moving south to Spain, Arnold would have an opportunity to try his luck in La Liga.

Signing the England international would address potential long-term issues at right back, where Dani Carvajal, who is a contender for the Ballon d'Or, is aging and is currently sidelined for the rest of the season due to injury. Lucas Vazquez, who is not naturally suited to that position, and turns 34 around the time Arnold is expected to join Real Madrid, is not a viable long-term solution.

In addition, injuries sustained by Eder Militao and David Alaba have highlighted the team's lack of depth in the center back position. In light of this, Real Madrid is said to be targeting a promising young talent from the Premier League.

Born in Amsterdam and now a naturalized Spanish citizen, Dean Huijsen is currently impressing in the Premier League with AFC Bournemouth. If he continues to progress at his current pace, he may form a central defensive partnership with FC Barcelona's Pau Cubarsi for the Spanish national team.

Both La Liga giants have previously expressed interest in Huijsen when he was playing for Malaga, but he chose to join Juventus in 2021. After only making one senior appearance for the Serie A heavyweights, Huijsen moved to Bournemouth last summer in a $15.6 million (€15 million) deal.

In his 12 Premier League appearances this season, Huijsen has once again attracted the attention of several major clubs, including Real Madrid, which may make a move for him before the next season.

AFC Bournemouth's standout defender, Dean Huijsen, has been attracting interest from La Liga giants, including Real Madrid, following his impressive performances in the Premier League. Juventus, who initially signed Huijsen in 2021, might have missed out on a promising talent, as Huijsen's current form has also caught the eye of FC Barcelona's scouts.
