Jaeger-LeCoultre, the watchmaker founded by Antoine LeCoultre, has announced the release of three new variants of the Master Grande Tradition Calibre 985. The collection, a testament to the founder's passion for precision, includes a rose gold model and two platinum models with deep blue dials.
The Calibre 985 is an automatic watch that boasts a perpetual calendar combining day, date, month, year, lunar phase, and a day/night indicator. This calendar requires correction only after 122 years, making it a remarkable feat of watchmaking. The calendar is displayed on three subdials, including a 20-second scale below the tourbillon.
The tourbillon opening in the new models showcases the craftsmanship impressively. The Calibre 985 features a cylindrical hairspring for isochronism and maximum accuracy, a detail from 1776. Hand-finished bridges, blued screws, and an engraved rose gold oscillating weight are other notable features.
The new models have a 42 mm case made of over 80 meticulously crafted components. They feature polished, brushed, and micro-blasted surfaces, creating depth and visual tension. The rose gold model starts at 177,000 €, while platinum variants range between 177,000 € and 224,000 €. Each variant comes with a matching alligator leather strap - blue for platinum, brown for rose gold.
One of the platinum models features a bezel set with 72 baguette diamonds (3.4 carats). The dials combine color contrasts, sandblasting, and opalescence. Despite its technical refinement, the watch remains wearable at a height of 13.27 mm.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Calibre 985 in platinum has a price that is available upon request and is not publicly listed. The price for this model, as well as other variants like the 18k pink gold version, varies depending on specific materials and customization.
